I was supposed to feel something, like remorse maybe, but I didn’t feel shit. He was my mother’s no good, perverted ass boyfriend and I was relieved to see him take his last breath. Good riddance . I’d caught my first body at the tender age of fourteen and I must admit that I actually enjoyed it. Life had taken me on a dark, destructive path since the gruesome murder of my father when I was nine. All of those bottled up emotions that I never dealt with came full circle and my actions sent me to juvenile detention for second degree murder. During my time in juvie I met my best friends Teena and Peaches. The three of us formed a very unlikely friendship, but we found a common bond. Calling ourselves “three the hard way”, we pulled off the wildest riot in the history of the institution. We planned to wreck the same havoc when we hit the streets. My nigga Buff, a streetwise hustler, held me down when I was in juvie just like he did when I was at the crib. He and his sexy ass brother Zeus had made a major come up in the dope game and my niggas promised to look out for me when I got out. After my release at the age of eighteen it was on! My life’s mission was to find the men who murdered my father and personally annihilate them. At a time when most girls were thinking about graduation and prom, I was planning the massacre of some of the most dangerous men in the criminal underworld. In my eighteen short years life had thrown some fucked up obstacles in my way, but I would soon realize that I hadn’t seen shit yet. In this painfully treacherous urban tale of drugs, sex money and murder you will experience the circumstances that turned a sweet little girl by the name of Zeaira Rowe into the cold blooded killer Zero Degrees.

I held the Colt .45 pistol in my right hand and pulled her leg with the other. “Wake up bitch!” I yelled rudely rousing her from her sleep. She moved around and mumbled something that I didn't understand. The snake wasn't up yet, so I shot the gun in the air. Peaches sprang up and huddled near the headboard when she saw me standing there with the gun pointed at her. “What the...?” She asked groggily wiping the sleep from her eyes. “Nope, you ain't dreamin’! I ain't dead! I’m alive as hell and I’m right here in your face, so wake the hell up!” The look on my face told her why I was there. There was fear on her face, but there was no mistaking the evil in her eyes. It was probably always there, but I was too naive to notice it. Either that, or I was so evil that I didn't recognize the look at first as a threat. Maybe the look just reminded me of the look in my own eyes. As I sat down on the bed, she cowered closer to the headboard. “Don’t be scared now,” I taunted her. “You wasn't scared when you decided to set up my best friend, almost got my man killed and murdered the only real female friend I got.” “What the hell? I thought your ass was dead.” She sneered at me before letting out a cackle of a nervous laugh. “Just my damn luck.” “Luck?” My laugh was way more menacing than hers. “Sorry to break the bad news, but your luck ran out a long time ago.” “If you gon’ kill me go ahead and do it Zero. You got the gun in your hand. Don’t torture me with a guilt trip like your ass is so perfect.” She rolled her eyes at me like we were having a simple quarrel in juvie. If only she knew. “It ain't goin’ be that easy. I figured with this gun in your face you’ll finally tell the truth. I got some questions for you before I kill you.” The gun was pointed right under her rib cage. I had the barrel right there and she couldn't move without getting some hot steel in her vitals.
